Oregon Wine Month Sales Programs

OWM_logotype_Vertical-216CWhether you are self-distributed or working with a wholesaler to sell your wine in Oregon, you and your sales team will want to take full advantage of these two programs to help drive your sales during Oregon Wine Month.

On-Premise Buyer Program
One of the Oregon Wine Board’s aims for Oregon Wine Month 2015 is to energize the on-premise channel, increasing placements and stimulating sales at restaurants and wine bars in Oregon. To this end, the OWB has implemented a program for on-premise buyers. Any on-premise buyer supporting Oregon wine during May is eligible to win a VIP weekend to the Oregon wine region of their choosing.

Consumer-facing events and specials, like winemaker dinners and Oregon tasting flights, will not only earn the buyer entries but will also be promoted on the Oregon Wine Month website to drive traffic to their establishments. Other activities to help promote Oregon wine, such as hosting a staff training or adding new placements, can also gain entries into the drawing.

April Action Plan: Ensure your wines are featured at restaurants and wine bars during Oregon Wine Month! Download the one-pager about the Oregon Wine Month On-Premise Buyer Program and share it with your sales team, distributor partners and key accounts. Ask them to set up events or features to highlight your wines during May. Then, submit all events, features and other on-premise activity to the Oregon Wine Board for inclusion on the website and entry into the drawing.

Distributor Rep of the Year Program
The success of Oregon Wine Month depends on participation from all parts of the industry to generate activity and sales. That’s why, at the conclusion of Oregon Wine Month, the Oregon Wine Board will be soliciting nominations for the 2015 Oregon Wine Month Rep of the Year. All Oregon-based distributor sales reps are eligible and anyone can nominate a rep for the honor.

From the nominations, one on-premise sales rep and one off-premise sales rep will be selected as the Oregon Wine Month Rep of the Year. The winners will be featured in their very own “Wildly Sophisticated, Properly Oregonian” ad in the fall of 2015. Overall success in driving sales and executing activities for Oregon wine during May will be a key factor, along with qualitative factors from the nominator’s endorsement.

April Action Plan: The OWB has presented this program to on- and off-premise teams at three of Oregon’s top distributors. Now is the time to get your wines in the game! Download the one-pager about the Oregon Wine Month Rep of the Year Program. Share it with your sales team and your distributor partners. Stay in touch with them throughout May to build the story of why the person selling YOUR wine deserves to win!

If you have any questions about Oregon Wine Month 2015, please contact OWB’s marketing manager, Jess Willey. Thank you for your collaboration in helping to make 2015 our best Oregon Wine Month yet!
