While many critics judged the 2011 Pinot noir vintage in Oregon harshly, Dr. Owen Bargreen of the Washington Wine Blog would like to revisit the vintage. In his words, “…a cool growing season doesn’t necessarily translate to poorly made wines; A cool growing season can lead to some highly complex wines. A 2011 retrospective could offer a more detailed clarification of how the vintage has performed now many years past its release.”
Bargreen’s recent visit to Oregon prompted this discussion, and his past reports have included this rose report and other articles such as this Southern Oregon one.
