There are expected to be two (2) openings on the nine-member Oregon Wine Board starting in January 2019. Applications for those positions are being accepted until July 31, 2018. The Governor’s Oregon Wine Board appointees are also invited to stand for ratification by members of the Oregon Winegrowers Association to serve concurrently on both Boards of Directors.
Applicants are subject to a background check as part of the review process and will be considered first by the wine industry’s Nominating Committee. If appointed by the Governor, Directors serve three-year terms. Consistent with the 2003 legislation establishing the OWB, prospective Directors must be actively engaged in wine grape growing or winemaking and be an Oregon resident, officer or principal owner of an entity organized or registered to do business in the state. Especially important is that volunteer Board Directors must have a demonstrated interest in the positive development of the Oregon wine industry.
