There are expected to be two (2) openings on the nine-member Oregon Wine Board starting in Jan. 2018. Applications for those positions are being accepted until Sept. 30. The governor’s Oregon Wine Board appointees are also invited to stand for ratification by members of the Oregon Winegrowers Association to serve concurrently on both Boards of Directors.
Applicants will be considered first by the OWA’s Industry Nominating Committee and, if appointed by the governor, will serve a three-year term. Consistent with the 2003 legislation establishing the OWB, prospective directors must be actively engaged in wine grapegrowing or winemaking and be an Oregon resident, officer or principal owner of an entity organized or registered to do business in the state. Especially important is that volunteer Board Directors must have a demonstrated interest in the positive development of the Oregon wine industry. To apply, submit this interest form directly to the OWA nominating committee chair Scott Shull, the Governor’s Office of Appointments or the OWB. For questions, contact the OWB.
