Oregon Wine Board becomes sponsor of Feast Portland

PORTLAND, Aug. 26, 2015 – The Oregon Wine Board (OWB) announced today that it is a sponsor of the annual Feast Portland event, Sept. 17-20. OWB will be a sponsor at Smoked!, Feast’s sold out marquee Saturday night event on Sept. 19.

“The Oregon Wine Board is delighted by the opportunity to connect with nearly 1,700 guests at the Smoked! event as a sponsor,” said Ellen Brittan, OWB chairwoman. “Feast Portland has proved to be an excellent platform for the Oregon wine community to evangelize the amazing quality and diversity of our wines and producers.”

The OWB booth will feature the 2015 Oregon Wine A-List Restaurant of the Year, The Joel Palmer House. Internationally known for its mushroom- and truffle-inspired menu, the Dayton, OR based restaurant has become just as lauded for the unparalleled depth Oregon wines in its cellar. Chef and owner Christopher Czarnecki will be serving his signature wild mushroom risotto. The dish will be paired with five wines that showcase the food friendliness and exceptional quality of wines from Oregon, representing four distinct regions: Southern Oregon, Willamette Valley, Columbia Gorge and Walla Walla Valley.

“My parents’ dream was to combine fine cuisine, great mushroom hunting and world-class wine,” said Czarnecki. “The Joel Palmer House is the fruition of that dream and Smoked! is an outstanding way to introduce new people to the bounty of Oregon’s food and wine scene.”

Feast Portland attendees can also enter to win a weekend in Oregon Wine Country thanks to a partnership with the Willamette Valley Visitors Association, Travel Oregon and OWB. Entry forms will be available at any of the partner booths.

The Smoked! event is a sizzling celebration of animal, vegetable, fire, sea and forest set to the tune of local wines, classic cocktails and an epic view of the Fremont Bridge.

Founded in 2012, Feast is Oregon’s premier food and drink festival. All net proceeds are donated to end childhood hunger in Oregon and around the country through Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon and Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign. Since its inception, Feast has donated more than $162,000 to these deserving organizations dedicated to making childhood hunger history.
