Oregon Wine Economic Impact Study – Your Participation Needed

Your assistance helps build the case for future industry support

The Oregon Wine Board requests your active participation in updating our industry Economic Impact Study. This update, conducted every three years, provides documented evidence of our industry’s importance to the state’s economy. Proof of our industry’s economic importance is critical in communicating with legislators, the media and other sectors of our industry. The data also support investments, loans and grant funding applications.

The OWB has partnered again with Full Glass Research on this project. Your input is important to its success, as not all relevant data can be gathered from industry organizations or public sources; we need some information directly from industry members. Therefore, we have authorized Full Glass Research to survey our members on certain topics. Everyone completing the survey will be entered in a drawing for 2 FREE tickets to the 2018 Oregon Wine Symposium.

NEW: Three firms that specialize in winery and vineyard financial accounting have volunteered to aid their clients with the survey. If you use Moss-Adams, Irvine & Co., or Perkins & Co, and there is a specific question you need help with, you may forward this email to them along with the question(s) or forward them the survey link with your request.

PRIVACY NOTE: Only aggregated data gathered in these surveys will be used and no individual winery or vineyard data will be shared by Full Glass Research with the OWB or any other public/private entities. The survey links below take you to Full Glass Research’s SurveyMonkey platform.

To make this easier for you, many questions from past surveys have been eliminated. The survey has been broken into several parts, so different individuals in your organization can answer them if preferred. Each survey is only 6-16 questions long.

DIRECTIONS: To participate in the survey, simply click on the links below.

Winery Spending Survey: This is best answered by owners/principals, general managers, finance/accounting managers or winemakers.

Winery Marketing/Sales Survey (very short): This is best answered by owners/principals, general managers or sales/marketing managers.

Winery DtC Survey (very short): This is best answered by owner/principals, general managers, tasting room managers or direct sales managers.

Vineyard Survey: For independent vineyards or vineyard management companies. Note: If you are a winery with vineyards, you will be routed to the Vineyard Survey from the Winery Spending Survey.

You may leave the survey partially complete and return to complete it later if you need to look up information. You may fill in one section and forward the links to the other sections to employees or colleagues.

If you have any questions about this study and how it will be used, please contact Marie Chambers at the OWB at 503.228.8336. If you have any questions about the survey links or how to complete them, please contact Christian Miller at Full Glass Research via email or at 510.847.5160. For further information on Full Glass Research, visit their website.

Sincerely,

Tom Danowski
