Chehalem to Give $40k Worth of Wine to Charity

[NEWS RELEASE] Chehalem Winery is launching its inaugural Making a Case for Giving campaign to celebrate Oregon Wine Month. In an unprecedented move, Chehalem plans to give away at least 100 cases of wine, worth up to $40,000, to charities.

From May 15 – Jun. 15, Chehalem invites qualified charities and not-for-profits to make their case for a wine donation and explain how they plan to use it to inspire giving. The catch? There isn’t one. Why? “Giving back is in Chehalem’s DNA,” says Harry Peterson-Nedry, founder and co-owner. “In the 30+ years we’ve been in business, we’ve committed ourselves to supporting and contributing to the communities around us.” Peterson-Nedry adds, “And, Oregon Wine Month is the perfect time to boost charities’ fundraising efforts using Oregon wine.” Chehalem plans to make this an annual May tradition.

Who qualifies? Applicants must be a non-profit organization located in the state of Oregon, or greater Vancouver, WA metro area and submit their 501(c)(3) along with a completed application. Full details and a downloadable application are available on chehalemwines.com. Chehalem will review and consider all applications and contact the winners beginning mid-June.

About Chehalem Winery
Chehalem Winery boasts a rich history of exceptional wines, innovation, sustainability and collaboration. Founder, Harry Peterson-Nedry, pioneered grape growing in the prestigious soils of Ribbon Ridge in the early 1980s. Chehalem sources estate fruit from three distinctive Willamette Valley AVAs and has second-generation winemaker, Wynne Peterson-Nedry, at the helm of production. The Oregon wine original is known for single-vineyard Pinots and a progressive approach to Willamette whites. More details at chehalemwines.com.
