“A Tour of Oregon” podcast episode recently premiered
GuildSomm is a nonprofit international membership organization for sommeliers and wine professionals that helps members expand their knowledge of the wine world, network, and stay up-to-date on industry news and trends. The Oregon Wine Board has partnered with GuildSomm to produce an hour-long podcast and a ten minute video featuring winegrowing regions in Oregon.
The strategic objective in partnering with GuildSomm was to create and distribute master-level Oregon wine educational content amongst trade influencers to increase appreciation and demand for Oregon wine across the country. Funded by the the Specialty Crop Block Grant awarded to the OWB in 2014, this project is a first step in our efforts to build out multi-media educational resources on the Oregon Wine Resource Studio.
Typically, podcasts and videos have been downloaded, viewed or listened to on the GuildSomm website 10,000-30,000 times by members of the trade across the world. The OWB has also embedded the podcast file on the Oregon Wine Resource Studio, which we will share with our trade contacts.
The GuildSomm team of three, including Geoff Kruth MS, spent Apr. 24-27 traveling through the Columbia Gorge, Willamette Valley and Southern Oregon. OWB is thrilled to have been the catalyst for this influential group’s first visit to Southern Oregon. While timing didn’t allow for travel to the Walla Walla Valley and The Rocks District, those regions were featured in a previous podcast and video produced by GuildSomm.
GuildSomm’s “A Tour of Oregon” podcast episode is now available on the Oregon Wine Resource Studio, GuildSomm website, Vimeo, YouTube and iTunes. GuildSomm will be returning at the beginning of September to capture additional vineyard b-roll and conduct more interviews. The video will be released in the fall.
