Agriculture Worker Vaccination Update from ¡Salud!

Information provided by ¡Salud! on Jan. 21, 2021

¡Salud! & COVID-19 Vaccines:

  • At this time, ¡Salud! is not planning to administer vaccines via mobile clinics in the vineyards. We are, however, planning to partner with vaccination hub clinics organized by healthcare systems, Federally Qualified Health Clinics (FQHC) and others as they become available.
  • Vaccine distribution is complex, requiring extreme refrigeration, multiple doses with exact scheduling, and requires a medic or ambulance to be on site in the rare case of adverse reactions. For these reasons, for the time being it makes more sense for ¡Salud! to partner with larger healthcare entities who already have the infrastructure to administer the vaccines and can host where these resources are available.
  • We are committed to getting you the most up-to-date information and connecting our clients to vaccine access when it is available.
  • Please consider us as a resource for information, and direct questions to (888)740-4278 or [email protected].

When will vaccines for agricultural workers be available via community clinics?

  • Agricultural workers are scheduled in the 1B vaccination group, which has not yet begun. https://covidvaccine.oregon.gov/
  • We anticipate vaccinations to begin in mid-March, early April at the earliest, which all depends on the supplies the state receives from the Federal Government.
