2019 Decanter World Wine Awards – Call for Entries


Decanter has issued a call for entries into its 2019 Decanter World Wine Awards. Below is information provided by Decanter.


Who: International and authoritative, Decanter is the world’s finest wine media brand renowned for its independence and depth of knowledge. Since 1975 Decanter has featured some of the most influential wine writers from across the world attracting a global audience whose passion is wine. Decanter.com is the world’s leading online source for up-to-date information with 540,000 users per month and 1.2million page views.

What: Now in its 16th edition, the Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) is the world’s largest and most prestigious wine competition judged by top wine experts from around the world. The DWWA 2019 panel consists of over 270 judges, including 71 Masters of Wine, and 24 Master Sommeliers. Wines are organized for tasting by country, region, color, grape, style, vintage, and price. This ensures that wines are judged blind
in flights against their peers.

Where: The competition is open for entries now

When: March 1 is the entry deadline, Feb. 22 for consolidating your wine at a local shipping depot. Awards results will be announced in late May 2018.

Why: If you do business in the U.K. and Europe this is an essential competition that will boost your reputation globally and help your brand gain recognition amongst top trade and consumers. 2019 DWWA award-winners will have the opportunity to participate in 17 consumer and trade tastings and masterclasses in London and around the world, including the new Unsigned Talent Tasting for those looking to break into the U.K. market.

How: Enter here Entry fees are $250 USD per wine (online entry), if wineries chose to participate in consolidated shipping, it is an additional $68 per wine.
