Give Oregon Wine Toolkit

November 13, 2024 | Consumer Marketing, The Giving Season |

“Give Oregon Wine” is a holiday campaign open to all Oregon wine-related businesses, running from November 12 to January 1. The campaign has two key objectives:

  1. Promote DTC Sales: Boost online and in-person sales during this crucial holiday season.
  2. Encourage Wine Country Experiences: Highlight unique experiences for holiday gatherings and gifts.

OWB Support for Oregon Wineries

To support this initiative, the Oregon Wine Board (OWB) will:

  • Create and share promotional graphics for participating businesses statewide.
  • Build a promotional webpage on oregonwine.org.
  • Promote the campaign across OWB’s channels and via paid digital advertising.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Step 1: Create a Seasonal Gift for Your Customers

  • Wine: Designate one or more SKUs for holiday purchase (e.g., special reserve bottles, Magnums, Holiday Packs).
  • Experience: Offer unique experiences that can be gifted or enjoyed together during the holidays, such as private tastings, vineyard tours, or wine and food pairings. (74% of people prefer experiences as gifts.)
  • Gift Cards: Consider offering discounts for multiple gift card purchases (e.g., Buy 4 $50 gift cards for $175).
  • Club Membership: Offer club memberships as a unique gift idea that fosters long-term customer relationships.

Best Practices:

  • Simplify the buying process for your customers (e.g., clear “buy now” buttons, gift wrapping, shipping options).
  • Include shipping deadlines and timelines.
  • Consider incorporating a charity into your offer (e.g., donate $1 for every Holiday Pack sold to a chosen charity).
  • Think about gifts that encourage return visits and brand loyalty (e.g., a $10 gift card with purchase).
  • Explore solutions for corporate gifting.

Step 2: Make Your Seasonal Gift Available

  • Clearly explain your promotional details on your website.
  • Create visuals and social media posts to promote your gift. Digital assets and messaging suggestions are available below.
  • Make your call to action clear and straightforward.

 Step 3: Share and Promote

  • Submit your business and your gifting opportunities here to be featured on our website in the Oregon Wine Gift Guide.
Please submit the specific link to your gift suggestion, online gift guide or online store for direct customer access to your offer.
