CARES Act Overview for the Oregon Wine Industry

On April 9 the OWB hosted a webinar to review the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act as it relates to the Oregon wine industry.

This presentation was intended for Oregon vineyard and winery owners to obtain a deeper understanding of the CARES Act and the various Small Business Administration (SBA) loan programs available to winery and vineyard owners including eligibility requirements, application processes and longer term business implications.

Speakers

  • Mark Freund, Managing Director and Team Lead of First Republic’s Business Banking Team, provided an overview of the CARES Act and details of the specific loan programs established through it.
  • Scott Bossom, Senior Vice President and SBA Manager at Columbia Bank, walked the group through the application process for each loan program, including what you will need for documentation as you enroll as well as expected time frames.
  • Jana McKamey, Executive Director of the Oregon Winegrowers Association, provided an update on current and new legislative developments coming out of Washington, D.C., and Oregon as they relate to the wine industry.
