Understanding Vineyard Soils and Nutrition

Join Oregon State University professor James Cassidy for a deep dive into the major soil types and how their specific characteristics play a critical role in nutrient uptake and management.  This foundation session opener will provide an understanding of the importance of soil organic matter, pH, and more. Mark Greenspan of Advanced Viticulture will take you deep into the nutritional needs of the grapevine and how growers can best apply fertilizers to amend and ameliorate soils for successful grapegrowing. This comprehensive seminar will provide additional guidance on soil testing and cover crop management providing a practical road map for establishing good vine nutrition in your vineyard.
