Building Resiliency: A Data-Driven Approach

Today’s challenging economic environment and rapidly evolving consumer behavior requires wineries to implement changes quickly to stay ahead. Understanding your data and using analytics to respond to these shifts can be a game-changer. Join Cathy Huyghe for an engaging session exploring how to leverage data across your sales channels to uncover growth opportunities. With a global perspective on the trends reshaping winery business models and channel strategies, Cathy will share real-life examples of wineries that transformed their sales through data-driven decision-making. Cathy Huyghe, Co-Founder & CEO, Enolytics
Cathy Huyghe is an entrepreneur, writer and mindfulness proponent. She is the co-founder of Enolytics, a technology-centric disruptor and provider of data analytics solutions for the wine industry. She has been writing about the business and politics of the wine industry in her column for Forbes online since 2014, and she also co-creates the content for A Balanced Glass, a community dedicated to wellness in the wine and spirits world. All three of those ventures have been recognized for their innovative contributions. In 2021 Huyghe was named one of the industry’s Most Inspiring People by the Wine Industry Network, and in 2022 she was nominated as Innovator of the Year Wine Star award by Wine Enthusiast magazine. She founded the group for Harvard Alumni in Wine and Food, and she lives in Atlanta with her husband, twin boys, and two Bernese Mountain Dogs named Karma and Zen.

Carissa Cook (moderator), Director of Marketing & Insights, Oregon Wine Board
Carissa grew up in the wine and hospitality industry. Her family owned a wine bar and fine dining restaurant for over 40 years. Professionally, Carissa has 15 years of wine industry experience focused on brand storytelling, marketing and business strategy. She has a uniquely diverse background across all sides of the wine industry having worked for suppliers, distributors and as a buyer, as well as on both the wholesale and direct-to-consumer sides of the business. Most recently, Carissa led the development efforts for one of Oregon’s largest wineries, successfully overseeing the opening of four new tasting rooms. Prior to that, she managed trade marketing for the world’s largest wine supplier and owned a restaurant which she sold in 2019. Carissa earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Advertising from the University of Nevada, Reno. Her love of Oregon Pinot Noir inspired her to move to Oregon and she immediately fell in love with the Pacific Northwest.
