Investing in Oregon Wine & Our Community

Each year, as budget allows, the Oregon Wine Board accepts requests for grants and sponsorships that supports programs and events, which strengthen the wine industry and celebrate Oregon wine. In the 2025-26 Fiscal Year, the OWB Board of Directors voted to increase the budget in support of the industry.



East Meets West: AAPI Food & Wine NYC

AAPI Food & Wine: NYC in the first event in a national series celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander chefs, winemakers, and entrepreneurs through tastings, panels, and collaborative dinners that showcase Oregon’s AAPI innovation in food and wine. The sponsorship will help and promote more inclusive industry while highlighting Oregon AAPI wineries and the state’s culinary scene.

Ahivoy! Wine Industry Professional Training program graduation and golf tournament fundraiser

The project includes two connected activities: the graduation celebration for Ahivoy’s 17-week Wine Industry Professional Training Program in collaboration with Chemeketa’s NW Wine Studies Center, and a hole sponsorship at Ahivoy’s annual golf tournament, both designed to strengthen workforce retention, professional advancement, and industry connection.

The Oregon Wine Board was an official sponsor of the Champagne & Moonlight Festival, held February 20–22, 2026 in downtown Florence, Alabama. The three-day event celebrated wine, music, and culinary experiences and included an Oregon wine seminar and participation from 27 Oregon wineries pouring wines throughout the festival. The event reached approximately 1,500 consumers in attendance and an additional 15,000 through digital promotion and social media.

Houston Rodeo’s Rodeo Uncorked! International Wine Competition Judges’ Training

Rodeo Uncorked! International Wine Competition is held annually in the fall, bringing prestige along with sales and marketing opportunities to winners. Oregon was selected as the featured wine region for the 2026 competition. To support this, OWB sent Bree Stock MW to Houston in October to deliver an Oregon Wine masterclass for 100+ judges and volunteers.

Roux is a citywide festival featuring pop-up dinners, parties, panels, and hands-on experiences that celebrate food and drink culture for the ultimate food lover in Portland. The partnership opportunity showcased Oregon wines by having a local woman winemaker onsite to pour, educate guests about Oregon’s incredible wine scene through intimate tastings and pair Oregon wine to quality food offerings by renowned chefs and support local women in wine.

Malbec in the City is the first ever Malbec event in the US to showcase this lesser-known varietal.  The April 2026 event featured tastings of over 50 Oregon Malbecs from 20 wineries, tango dancing and live music.

For over 60 years, the Northwest Food Show has been bringing restaurant, foodservices and hospitality buyers and sellers together in what is now the largest and most well-known business-to-business foodservice event in the Pacific Northwest. OWB sponsored and covered 50% of table costs for 5 wineries in addition to logo placement and brand awareness at the event.

Oregon cider companies that produce cider over 8.5% alcohol are subject to taxes, which are paid to OWB. Each year, OWB sponsors events hosted by the NW Cider Association to put these resources back into the cider community in support of their growth.

The Organic Winegrowers Network and Oregon Organic Coalition are hosting the second Organically Grown Wine Conference, building on the successful 2025 inaugural event. The conference brings together growers, producers, media, buyers, and stakeholders for farmer-led learning and collaboration focused on quality, sustainability, and innovation. Goals include earned media, increased sales, new markets, expanded organic acreage, and peer-to-peer learning—helping position Oregon as a global leader in organic wine.

The Chehalem Mountains Neighborhoods Project is a multi-year collaboration with the University of Dijon examining how neighborhood diversity within the AVA influences wine sensory profiles. The grant will fund analysis of three years of tasting data using AI, contributing to a peer-reviewed publication. The project seeks to refine tasting patterns, provide practical tools for growers and wineries, and advance terroir-focused innovation in Oregon wine.

Preserving Oregon’s Vintage Voices: Southern Oregon Wine Archive Tour 2026

In March 2026, Linfield staff will travel to Roseburg, Medford, and Ashland to interview Southern Oregon industry leaders, capturing new perspectives as the region’s wine industry enters its next generation. This project will expand the Oregon Wine History Archive through recorded interviews and the digitization of photographs and memorabilia, supported by student research and processing. A Southern Oregon open house will promote public access to the archive, helping preserve and share the evolving story of Oregon wine.

The project aims to deliver a high-quality, place-based travel experience in Milton-Freewater, OR AVA (the Rocks District of Milton-Freewater AVA), to boost tourism and support local industry partners. Funds will engage two regional and eight travel/wine journalists to showcase the unique wines of the Rocks District of Milton-Freewater and the Basalt Bash, providing national coverage for Oregon, the the Rocks District of Milton-Freewater AVA, and Walla Walla Valley. This advances local economic goals and strengthens RDW’s collaboration with state and local partners to establish the Rocks District of Milton-Freewater AVA as a premier wine destination.

RVV’s mission is to elevate the visibility and economic impact of the Rogue Valley wine region through collaborative marketing, industry networking and organization, and consumer engagement initiatives. The familiarization tour will encourage extended stays, support Rogue Valley Vintners, all while promoting the region, and helping raise broader awareness of the uniqueness of the Rogue Valley AVA.

This project will promote five annual events hosted by the Umpqua Valley Winegrowers Association to increase attendance from both local audiences and visitors fromoutside the region. The 5 annual events include: Greatest of the Grape, Umpqua Valley Cellar Experience, Pairing Pass Weekend, Seven Feathers Wine Fest, and Winesgiving Weekend.

Wine Contributions

The Oregon Wine Board receives wine donations from wineries and promotional events.  The wine is used to support various events and community fundraisers that promote and celebrate Oregon Wine. This year donations were made to the Wine Pull at the Make‑A‑Wish “Golf for Wishes” Annual Tournament, the Oregon Dairy Industries Annual Conference and Elliker Cheese Tray Event, the Oregon Wine Symposium Happy Hour, and official state events hosted by Governor Kotek at Mahonia Hall.
