Director of Consumer Sales

ACTIVELY SUPPORTS
Customer Service and Hospitality, Tasting Room and Wine Club sales, Direct to Consumer eCommerce, Events, Brand Outreach

ROLE PURPOSE | The Tasting Room Manager is at the forefront of our brand, welcoming guests at The Outlook and providing a memorable world-class experience. This person must be a self-starter with a strong customer service background in luxury products. Work directly with the Director of Consumer Sales to maintain and build hospitality standards in all DTC channels; Tasting Room, Events, Wine Club, eCommerce and Phone sales. Essential to the role is to maintain the company’s long-established reputation for excellence and to create a culture of cooperation, trust and lasting engagement among team members, our customers, and key stakeholders in the community.

QUALIFICATIONS
Exemplary customer service and presentation skills with the ability to relay knowledge of wines and wine production in private and group settings
Ability to multitask and “act on the fly” during high traffic situations
Possess excellent communication skills with team members, management, and customers, maintaining a positive attitude.
Build strong relationships with guests and local luxury hotels and concierge.
Strong organizational skills
Proficient in Google Suite, Wine Direct, Tock
Knowledge of Trello, Ship Compliant, FedEx, Wine Shipping a plus
Passionate about wine
2+ years experience in a retail sales role, focusing on team sales goals, hospitality, wine club memberships, mailing list building, and sales growth
Experience with event planning, coordination, and implementation to increase demand and build the Knudsen Vineyards mailing list
Must have a clean professional appearance and excel in intercommunications and interactions, both in person and through virtual discussion
Ability to start a project and carry through to successful implementation
The Tasting Room Manager will be required to work weekends, weekdays, some evenings, and some holidays. The typical shift will be 9:00 am-5:00 pm for a maximum of 40 hours per week.
Must be 21 years of age
Ability to lift up to 45 lbs
Must hold a current OLCC server’s permit or obtain during first 30 days of employment

RESPONSIBILITIES
Emphasis on customer loyalty and retention
Build long-lasting relationships
Act as a brand ambassador, helping to promote Knudsen Vineyards across local networks.
Collaborate with the Director of Consumer Sales to provide wine education and premium customer service, creating a team-focused environment.
Work together with the Director of Consumer Sales to plan annual events and elevated experiences.
Offer premium customer service for all visitors; customers, members of the trade, friends, and family, etc.
On a daily basis, conduct tastings and tours, restock wine, wipe down tables, bus and wash glasses.
Record inventory with Director of Consumer Sales
Maintain stock of wines, supplies, merchandise, and essential Tasting Room items.
Work directly with the Director of Consumer Sales to coordinate staffing needs.
Perform daily opening and closing procedures.
Assist in the development of weekly staff training and sales meetings.
Understand and meet DTC sales goals
Awareness of compliance and shipping restrictions
Understand POS programs to process sales and shipping orders.
Coordinate fulfillment team for heavier shipping months (holidays, wine club, promotions, etc)
Knowledge of Key Performance Indicators and the ability to offer suggestions for sales and wine club growth.
Organize reservations
Follow safety protocols and manage a team to effectively promote a safe and clean work environment.
