TASTING NOTES
This wine is spicy, layered, and bright, with cherry, raspberry, and cinnamon mingling with each other in a lively dance. The mid palate spreads nicely to cover and coat while a burst of citrus zest freshens the palate. An opulent, elegant roundness throughout compliments a fine, dusty tannin that adds lovely cocoa powder complexity to the wine. Ample, yet balanced fruit bounces and buoys the structure.

VINTAGE NOTES
2019 was truly unlike any other vintage, and the wine is similarly distinct. All points led to a “Classic Oregon” vintage, marked by a cool growing season, some scattered rain events, and a late start to harvest, at least compared to recent warmer trends. Yields were low, but expectations were high for a brighter, age-worthy wine in the making. During our extended pick, our neighbor to the west started a controlled burn of his property which damaged a portion of our fruit. In order to protect the quality of the wine, we used a number of proven filtration techniques to remove any undesirable components to great success. To further ensure quality, we decided to only make 1 red wine in 2019, this wine, including in it the wines usually reserved for our Estate, Lorna Marie, and block-designates. It is our hope that these measures and your understanding will strengthen your appreciation of this very rare, excellent expression of our Estate vineyard.
