2025 Vineyard & Winery Census Launching Soon

The 2025 Vineyard & Winery Census is launching next Monday, December 22 on the accelerated timeline established last year. The study quantifies Oregon’s harvest, crush, and grape and wine sales, providing the most comprehensive picture of winegrowing and winemaking in Oregon. The 2025 grape and wine market dynamics make this report especially critical in this challenging time for the wine industry in Oregon.

One principal at each vineyard and winery business will receive the survey request from Jay Matonte, who is taking over as study lead from Bob Parker at the University of Oregon’s Institute for Policy Research & Engagement. Please contact Jay to update your company’s primary contact, or if you do not receive an email from him with the survey link by Tuesday, December 23. Learn more about the study here.

Economic Impact Study Update

Thank you to everyone who took part in the Economic Impact Study this fall. The research team is now working on analyzing data across a variety of sources and drafting the report, which is planned for publication around the end of January. Dr. Robert Eyler will discuss the findings at the Oregon Wine Symposium on February 4, along with a broader discussion of global and local economic forces impacting Oregon wine businesses.

December 2025 Weather and Climate Forecast

Dr. Greg Jones recently published an updated weather and climate summary and forecast. This report looks back at November and forecasts conditions for December, January, and February.
