Oregon Wine Symposium 2020: Explore the Many Dimensions of Wine Sales & Marketing
EXPLORE THE MULTI-FACETED LANDSCAPE OF CONSUMER SALES AND MARKETING
Creating an impactful consumer sales and marketing program involves so much more than providing standout hospitality in your tasting room. The Sales & Marketing track at the 2020 Oregon Wine Symposium will increase your aptitude in media relations, wine marketing compliance, commission structures and more.
The Symposium kicks off Tuesday morning with the return of Rob McMillan of Silicon Valley Bank who will deliver the State of the Industry address. Then, DTC managers can dive right in to a discussion that examines effective strategies for commission and bonus structures in Creating and Managing a Successful DTC Commission Program.
In the afternoon, Staying Compliant in Consumer Marketing will help wine marketers navigate legal grey areas. And before breaking for the evening’s Soirée, learn how to get beyond likes and comments and use social media to make a difference in your sales during Social Media Strategies for Growing Your Wine Business.
On the second day, delve into Successful Media Relations: Strategy & Management, which will explore the highly-fragmented media landscape and discuss best practices for working with both traditional and digital media outlets.
Following the Industry Awards Lunch, join a trio of industry veterans who will discuss The Long Game: Building Direct to Consumer Business Outside of Oregon. This panel, featuring wine.com founder and EVP Michael Osborn (right), will discuss consumer channels that you may be overlooking, including online sales.
Finally, the Sales & Marketing track wraps up with a thought-provoking exploration of Diversity in the Oregon Visitor Industry. This session will incorporate current wine consumer data presented by Christian Miller of Full Glass Research as well as an overview of Travel Oregon‘s diversity, equity and inclusion efforts and their implications for wine tourism.
For owners and direct sales managers at wineries of all sizes—especially small-to-mid-sized operations—the 2020 Oregon Wine Symposium Sales & Marketing track will give you a diverse array of tools and strategies to implement in your business.
As harvest progresses, you may be thinking about exploring new winery tools and techniques. If you have an experiment or trial you would like to develop and share at the 2020 Symposium, contact Scott Dwyer. You may also reach out with an idea for which you need help developing a protocol. We are searching for three trials, ideally focused on viticulture, enology and a product/tool.
