1:30 to 2:25 pm Key presentation: Tips and ideas for media discussion on how to keep Oregon at the forefront of national spotlight by tapping into local freelancer talent. Sophia McDonald Bennett is a freelance writer, editor, communications consultant and pro tem faculty member at the U of O Lundquist College of Business. She covers food, wine, travel, interior design and sustainability.
Her work has appeared in SevenFifty Daily, 1859, Oregon Wine Press, Via, The Atlantic, and more. Sophia joined us on this year’s OWB/Travel Oregon July media tour and wrote this recent story about Leo Gabica at Sweet Cheeks for the Register Guard. Sophia is based in Eugene and as well as being a mom to twins, she is a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors, Fellow of the 2019 Symposium for Professional Wine Writers and has achieved her WSET Level 2 with Distinction.
