For our 27th year, we continue the tradition of gathering the most active, diverse and experienced Oregon water law experts to address the issues of the day.  Our program will provide an update on recent legislative and OWRD administrative developments, along with discussions of the key issues driving water policy—storage water rights transfers, water marketing, and sustainability.  Practitioners from a wide array of viewpoints will address complex water supply and management challenges in several of Oregon’s watersheds, including the Walla Walla, Deschutes, and Klamath basins.  Recent litigation involving the Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, and Tribal interests will be addressed, along with innovative approaches to some of the overarching challenges facing these basins.  Recent developments involving Detroit Lake in the Willamette Basin and the status of the Hells Canyon Complex hydropower relicensing effort in the Snake Basin will also be discussed.  We will also cover technical considerations for water rights transfers, practical skills for real estate considerations, and ethical issues.

Our keynote speaker this year will be Jason Miner, policy manager for Governor Brown’s Natural Resources Office.  We hope you will join us for this excellent program and for a sponsored reception following the first day.
