Call for Wine: JamesSuckling 2026 Beyond Willamette Valley Oregon Report – August 18th, 2026

call for wine

JamesSuckling.com is seeking wines from outside the Willamette Valley for its annual Beyond Willamette Valley Oregon Report. Writer and critic Courtney Humiston, who covers Oregon, Washington, and Sonoma County among other regions, will taste Oregon wines in late August. As Humiston completed a Willamette Valley review earlier this year, this report is focused on wineries producing at least 1,000 cases per year located in Oregon outside of the Willamette Valley.

This report is focused on wineries producing at least 1,000 cases per year from the following regions:

  • Southern Oregon
    • Umpqua Valley
    • Rogue and Applegate Valleys
  • Columbia Gorge & Eastern Oregon
    • Columbia Gorge (Oregon side)
    • Columbia Valley (Oregon side)
    • Walla Walla Valley (Oregon side) and The Rocks District of Milton-Freewater
    • Snake River Valley (Oregon side)
  • Any part of Oregon outside the Willamette Valley not located in an official AVA (Example: Central Oregon)

Submissions Eligibility:

Eligible wineries may submit up to four different wines (SKUs) for consideration.

  • Winery must produce at least 1,000 cases annually.
  • Must be from the above-listed regions.
  • Maximum of four SKUs per winery.
  • One bottle per submitted SKU.
  • No varietal restrictions.
  • Wines must be currently available in market or scheduled for release soon.
  • Barrel or tank samples will not be accepted.

Previously reviewed wines may be resubmitted if they are new releases. If you are unsure whether a wine has already been reviewed, log in to view past tasting notes.

Submission Deadline:

Wine samples must arrive by Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

Submission Limit:

The submissions for this call are limited to 400 wines. Once that limit has been reached, the submission form will close.

Required Submission Form:

Please complete one submission form for each submitted wine. This will ensure wines arrive safely, are properly tracked and provide Courtney with accurate technical information.

Please print, fill out, and attach this form to each box.

Sample Delivery Instructions:

Send or deliver your wines and submission forms by Tuesday, August 18, 2026 to:
