Export Program
Export marketing activities play an important role in increasing awareness of Oregon as a world class wine producing region, and supporting sales and distribution in key export markets. The funding structure is unique in that the Oregon Wine Board, as part of the Northwest Wine Coalition, receives funding from the US Department of Agriculture’s Market Access Program that is specifically earmarked for the promotion of Oregon wines outside the US.
The Export Committee meets on an as-needed basis and is open to any winery reps interested in participating. The committee has identified Japan, Canada, and the UK as our three target export markets and the majority of funding goes to activities that support sales and distribution in these countries. Other supported markets include China and Hong Kong.
Activities include an Oregon Wine Tasting in London in January, tasting activities in Japan in March, the Enjoy Oregon Wine Fair in Japan in the spring, and Vinexpo Asia (in Hong Kong) and the London Wine Fair in May. Summertime means inbound buyer and journalist tours; we bring more of them here every year.
